Justin Dowel joined up with former co-driver Champ Sue Evans in the Volkswagen Golf for IROQ. The pair were getting to grips with the VW and ironing out some issues
In our continuing coverage from Rally Queensland, we caught up with 2011 Australian Rally Champion, Justin Dowel. The Activ Rallysport driver is rallying a Volkswagen Golf for the first time in 2013, having switched from a Mitsubishi Evo.
Dowel showed pace with his VW but suffered some mechanical woes and the learning curve stepping from the 4WD Mitsubishi to a 2WD Volkswagen has been steep but the 2011 Champion is doing a stellar job.
As Justin details in this interview, he details his Rally Queensland, switching co-drivers and rally cars – the trials and tribulations of both.
