Andreas Wirth took out an almost perfect weekend in the final round of the 2014 ADAC GT Masters in his Calloway Corvette at Hockenheim.

It was a mighty successful year for Andreas despite only competing in 5 of the 8 events.  In all, 10 races for Andreas saw him take 4 wins.  For those who have followed his interviews on RacerViews, you know that he has had a difficult few years but 2014 allowed him to show his pace and skill.

The year is not over yet for Andreas as he will travel to Baku with Calloway Competition.

We have a chat about the final races, the upcoming race in Baku and the recent 2015 announcements from the GT Masters regarding tyres and live TV.

The race press release

Having already visited the top step of the podium at the Slovakia Ring and the Nürburgring, Daniel Keilwitz and Andreas Wirth were elated to celebrate back-to-back wins with their #1 ROLLER/PILOT Callaway Competition Corvette on Andreas’ home track.

Although Wirth only competed in five of the eight race weekends on the 2014 season calendar, he won four of the 10 races in which he started. This year’s final standings see Wirth match his best ADAC GT Masters final ranking from 2010 (when he raced the entire season), placing him in 6th in the standings – definitely an impressive season for the Heidelberger.

The two races at Hockenheim were run perfectly by Wirth and Keilwitz. Despite starting from 9th  on the grid Saturday, the duo fought their way through the field and dramatically conquered during the second half, making up six spots to claim their first victory of the weekend. The #1 Z06 GT3 Corvette dominated on Sunday, leading the field from wire to wire. Unshaken to have lost his considerable lead when the safety car was called out for two separate incidents late in the race, Wirth brought the Corvette safely to winner’s circle.

This double victory was especially rewarding for Wirth on his home-track, and Callaway Competition from the nearby Leingarten hosting the strong support of more than 1,000 guests over the weekend.
