WRC: A little fun before the start of Rallye Monte Carlo

We are at the Rallye Monte Carlo this weekend (YES – the Rallye Monte Carlo!) and we’ll take a photographic look at the event through the weekend.  Here is the first of our posts from the Ceremonial Start held in Monaco.

Seb Ogier and Julian Ingrassia – can anyone conquer them this year?  A dominant year last year for the French duo in the VW. Julian says hi…

It will be Seb vs Seb this weekend.  Citroen vs VW.  Loeb and Elana are back for 1 rally and he was very quick in stage 1 but by the end of day 1 a rock put paid to the rivalry

Neuville and Gilsoul will be expecting a lot this year – upgrades to the Hyundai will be coming on through the year and after the win in Germany, they’ll be hoping for more

M-Sport are back with Evans and new-boy Tanak.  An inexperienced lineup will hurt along with a lack of funds compared to their rivals

The #1 plate again belongs to Ogier and Ingrassia.  An imposing force

Julian Maruin is back with a M-Sport Ford for Rallye Monte Carlo

Bouffier and Prokop are back both with M-Sport cars.  One has high expectations for a part season, Prokop on the other hand is hoping to build on a positive 2014 seaspn

Mr Loeb is back – it seems odd to see him without the #1 on his car!

A historic French name in a historic French rally.  The DS brand is now a stand alone brand – not a Citroen anymore – and it is 60 years since we saw the frame-smashing original DSs.  The rallye is also held mostly in France, hundreds of kilometres from Monte-Carlo

The Citroen and Hyundai guys share a joke before the rally got underway
