Kevin Abbring showed the pace of the new Citroën C3 R5 at the Ypres Rally. His result didn’t show his pace due to a suspension failure on day one. But the Dutch driver did show well on the stages, setting fast times (though no stage wins) in the car.
He won in Ypres last year in the aging Peugeot 208 T16 R5, showing his undoubted pace – even if his WRC career didn’t pan out.
The Citroën is the fourth car he has rallied this year, having rallied an R5 Fiesta in selected WRC2 rounds and a RGT Porsche earlier in the year in the Belgian Rally Championship.
