Race 1

Laguna Seca, 17 May – Starting in pole position in today’s race, Harry Cheung clenched the first victory of the weekend at the notable circuit of Laguna Seca. Cheung (Ferrari of Beverly Hills) has been a dominant force, leading every lap from start to finish. His battle against Ricardo Perez of Ferrari of Houston, was remarkable especially since Perez noted the fastest lap overall in today’s race. Ultimately, Henrik Hedman (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) would finish second behind Cheung and Ryan Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) would close the Trofeo Pirelli podium winners’ circle.

As for the Coppa Shell drivers, Chris Ruud ultimately claimed his victory with a first place finish, improving his overall position to fourth. James Weiland of Ferrari of San Francisco equally showcased his talents as he finished with a second place finish. John Baker (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) finished third with his first podium of the season.

Race 2

Laguna Seca, 18 May – Following his win at Sonoma last month, Ricardo Perez of Ferrari of Houston proudly waived the  Mexican flag on top of the podium steps, winning first overall and in his Trofeo Pirelli class.

Perez, who started in pole position, continuously increased his margin ahead of Henrik Hedman of Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale who finished second. Hedman’s teammate, Gregory Romanelli, equally showcased a strong performance as he finished in third place, swiftly bypassing the collision between Damon Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) and James Weiland (Ferrari of San Francisco) at the start of the race.

In the Coppa Shell category, Chris Ruud took the victory for the second time this weekend for Ferrari of Beverly Hills. Robert Herjavec (Ferrari of Ontario) finished second on today’s podium while Jon Becker (Ferrari of Beverly Hills) took third position, just ahead of Darren Crystal form Ferrari of Houston.

The next round for the North America Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will take place June 6-8 in Montreal at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
