After two resounding victories by a Master, namely Jos Verstappen, it is no surprise that a 50+ driver will open the course in Tielt. Frédéric Miclotte is the best ranked of all participants in the intermediate standings of the Kroon-Oil BRC. As a result, he is allowed to open the course of the 50th TAC Rally on Saturday with his Škoda Fabia RS. In the BRC Master Cup, he is still in second place after the Rally van Haspengouw.

“In the past, I have often had starting number 1 as a co-driver alongside, among others, Freddy Loix, but this is the first time that I will have number 1 as a driver. I am proud of that. However, it does not give me any additional stress. For Nicolas, my navigator, the stress is a bit greater to clock in correctly,” says the fastest navigator in the country. “By the way, we will not gain much advantage from our starting position. In dry weather it is more of a small disadvantage because there is a lot of dust on the track. If it had rained, I would have cut deep everywhere,” Miclotte concludes laughing.
In the Rally2s, Bert Coene is the second Master in his home rally. The times of the fast Porsche 997 GT3 of Patrick Snijers will be the main focus, as he is determined to perform brilliantly on the slippery asphalt. In any case, it will be a battle of prestige with Tim Van Parijs. In the Porsches, we also see Henri Schmelcher in the Master classification.
