Eduardo “Dudu” Barrichello, the son of former Formula One stalwart Rubens Barrichello, has taken a significant step in his burgeoning motorsport career with his entry into the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). This move not only signals his ascent within the international racing hierarchy but also continues the illustrious Barrichello family legacy on the global stage.
Dudu, born in 2001, has methodically built his reputation through the ranks of competitive motorsport. His formative years saw him excel in karting and progress through single-seater categories such as the U.S. F2000 National Championship-where he finished as runner-up in 2020-and the Formula Regional European Championship. More recently, he demonstrated his versatility and racecraft in Brazil’s highly competitive Stock Car Pro Series, securing an impressive third place in the 2024 championship standings.
For the 2025 WEC season, Dudu has joined the Racing Spirit of Léman team, piloting the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo in the newly established LMGT3 class. His debut at the season-opening Qatar 1812km was met with considerable interest, not least because of his surname. However, Dudu quickly dispelled any notions of nepotism by delivering a strong performance, setting the third-fastest lap among the Aston Martin LMGT3 drivers-just 0.068 seconds adrift of his more experienced team-mate, Valentin Hasse Clot. The #10 crew, comprising Dudu, Hasse Clot, and Derek DeBoer, finished ninth in class, earning valuable championship points and, more importantly, experience.
Dudu’s campaign is underpinned by sponsorship from SOFTSWISS, an iGaming software provider with established ties to the Barrichello family. The partnership extends beyond mere branding, reflecting a multi-generational commitment to excellence and innovation both on and off the circuit.
Rubens Barrichello, himself a veteran of Le Mans, has been a supportive presence, expressing pride in his son’s achievements and harbouring hopes of one day sharing a car with both his sons at the iconic 24-hour race. Dudu, for his part, has approached his WEC debut with humility and determination, describing it as “a great learning weekend” and emphasising the importance of adaptability in endurance racing.
