2025 Guards Trophy Championship Overview

The Guards Trophy Championship, a cornerstone of the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) calendar, showcases an evocative mix of 1960s Sports Racing (SR) and Grand Touring (GT) cars. These classics are grouped into performance-based classes, running exclusively on Dunlop control tyres. New for 2025, the format introduces both split-grid and combined-grid races to accommodate the growing variety of cars.

Each race awards class-specific trophies, and by season’s end, separate champions will be crowned for SR and GT categories, ensuring equal recognition across both disciplines.

Race Format Races are 50-minute mini-enduros featuring mandatory pit stops and optional driver changes. Dual-driver entries are actively encouraged, though solo competitors face no disadvantage. With anticipated grids of 30 or more cars, the Guards Trophy continues to be a highlight of the HSCC season.

Invitation classes allow entries outside the core eligibility—such as pre-1973 GT and pre-1970 SR cars—though these will not accumulate championship points.
