Yohan Rossel has made a significant mark at the 2025 Rally Islas Canarias, showcasing his incredible talent in the WRC2 category. Over the course of just two days, he has demonstrated exceptional skill on the demanding Canary Island asphalt, racking up an impressive nine stage wins. As the event progressed, Rossel built a substantial lead of 18.8 seconds, positioning himself strongly heading into the final day of competition.

His driving has drawn comparisons to performances on other technically challenging rallies, such as Ypres in Belgium and the historic Tour de Corse, highlighting the precision and mastery required on the Gran Canaria stages. With his pace and confidence, Rossel is poised to potentially overtake Oliver Solberg—who is absent from this round—for the provisional lead in the WRC2 championship.

Throughout the event, Rossel, alongside co-driver Arnaud Dunand, moved from 10th place at the end of day one to 8th overall by the end of day two. His main challengers in the WRC2 category, including Spanish driver Alejandro Cachón, managed to secure two fastest stage times but struggled to substantially close the gap to Rossel. Other notable competitors like Nikolay Gryazin and Efrén Llarena also vied for podium positions, making for an exciting and competitive rally.
