QUALIFYING: 2 Seas and Mahiki Command the Grid in Scorching Snetterton Shootout

2 Seas Motorsport weathered the Norfolk heat to lock out both GT3 pole positions at Snetterton, with Charles Dawson and Maximilian Götz each delivering standout laps in a thrilling pair of Qualifying sessions. In GT4, Optimum Motorsport and Mahiki Racing split honours across two dramatic red-flag-interrupted sessions.

GT3: Dawson and Götz Deliver Late Surges

Charles Dawson timed his Q1 run to perfection in the #42 Mercedes-AMG, benefiting from cooler track conditions and a tow from Morgan Tillbrook’s McLaren to edge a hotly contested session by just 0.1s. He narrowly beat Blackthorn’s Giacomo Petrobelli, Barwell’s Alex Martin, and Kevin Tse in the sister 2 Seas entry—each making late improvements as the session built to a frenetic finish.

Rob Collard overcame early track limits trouble to secure fourth, with impressive efforts from Mark Smith (Paddock Motorsport) and Simon Orange rounding out the top ten. Tillbrook’s spin in the #77 McLaren ultimately left him tenth.

In Q2, Götz maintained his form, claiming pole in the #18 2 Seas Mercedes-AMG. After an early exchange of top spots involving Callum Macleod, Sven Müller, and Sandy Mitchell, the German twice matched his fastest lap to seal his second pole of the year. Marvin Kirchhöfer was second for Optimum, just ahead of Mitchell, with Marcus Clutton (Orange Racing) and Kiern Jewiss also in the mix.

GT4: Breakthrough for Hopkinson, Fifth Pole for Mahiki

GT4 Qualifying saw Luca Hopkinson secure his maiden British GT pole in Q1 for Optimum in the #17 McLaren, rebounding from a track limits infringement with a dominant final effort. The team locked out the front row as Marc Warren took second. However, their fortunes flipped in Q2 when the #17 Artura, now in Harry George’s hands, hit the tyre barrier at Hamilton.

Mahiki’s Jack Mitchell capitalised on the red flag timing, setting a pole-winning lap moments before the stoppage. That marked Mahiki’s fifth GT4 pole of the season. Traffic and track limits stifled further improvements post-restart, locking Mitchell into P1.

RACE 1: 2 Seas and Optimum Lead the Way in Season-Defining Wins

GT3: Dawson and Jewiss Extend Their Lead

The #42 2 Seas Mercedes-AMG of Dawson and Jewiss controlled the opening race, converting pole into a dominant second victory of the season. Dawson held off early pressure from Petrobelli’s Aston Martin, pulling clear before handing over to Jewiss, whose margin grew as Blackthorn served maximum Compensation Time from their Spa win.

Behind them, Götz and Tse secured a 2 Seas one-two after vaulting past the Aston via a quicker pit stop. Barwell’s Sandy Mitchell hunted the sister #18 Mercedes in the second stint, closing in as Götz negotiated traffic but ultimately settling for third.

Strong showings from Paddock (fifth), Team Parker Porsche (sixth), and Spirit of Race Ferrari (seventh) added to the GT3 depth, while Rob Collard’s early off and subsequent contact from Orange Racing’s Clutton reshuffled the back end of the top ten. The Bridger Motorsport Honda took Silver-Am honours in 12th.

GT4: Optimum and Brown Make It Four at Snetterton

Marc Warren and Jack Brown claimed their fourth GT4 win of the season—and Brown’s fourth consecutive Snetterton victory—thanks to a clean drive and savvy pit strategy. Early contact between Optimum teammates allowed Josh Miller’s Mahiki Ginetta to lead, but the Silver duo’s extended pit stop time handed the advantage to Warren and Brown, who reclaimed control post-stop.

Ramyead and Robertson had initially gained ground in the Century BMW, only to be penalised for track limits. That allowed Mahiki’s Mitchell and Miller to finish second, just ahead of the recovering Harry George and Hopkinson McLaren. A trio of penalties shuffled the order behind, with the Team Parker Mercedes-AMG repaired in time to score valuable points.

RACE 2: Götz, Tse and Century Strike Back

GT3: Götz and Tse Go Back-to-Back

2 Seas completed a weekend sweep in GT3 as Götz and Tse repeated last year’s Race 2 success. Starting from pole, Götz built a 6.4s cushion before handing over to Tse, who emerged just ahead of Kirchhöfer’s Optimum McLaren. Despite initial pressure, Tse pulled clear to secure a commanding win.

A late-race shakeup saw Tillbrook lose second to Barwell’s Alex Martin, and then third to Rob Collard after a decisive double overtake at Agostini and Hamilton. Post-race penalties for Petrobelli elevated Tillbrook back to fourth, salvaging a strong result.

Jewiss and Dawson overcame maximum Compensation Time and a 10-second grid penalty to finish seventh, limiting damage to their title campaign. The Orange Racing McLaren had its earlier penalty rescinded, ending the day in eighth.

GT4: Century in Control as Optimum Stumble

Century Motorsport bounced back in style with a dominant GT4 win, their third of the season. Robertson overtook pole-sitter Mitchell with a clean move around the outside at Brundle on lap two and never looked back. With rivals suffering from penalties and misfortune, Ramyead cruised to a lights-to-flag win.

The Mahiki Ginetta of Duggan and Wheeler took second, while Silver victory went to Century’s Templeton and Salkeld in third overall. Optimum’s Warren and Brown lost crucial points due to a pit stop infringement and maximum Compensation Time, though they still hold a 23.5-point lead in the standings.
