ASBK: Corey Turner, the Ducati is ‘a BEAST but I love to ride it’

What an impressive Debut it was for COREY TURNER #52 riding for the Desmosport DUCATI Team at the ASBK Round 5 Testing at Morgan Park Raceway, Corey will replace Callum Spriggs #50 for round 5 ,who has a shoulder injury from round 4 crash in Darwin.

COREY TURNER… makes the comment to me in the interview its a BEAST to ride says 19 year old Superbike Rookie.

Leonard Smith: What do you think of the Ducati Panigale 1299.
COREY TURNER: It’s a BEAST but I love to ride it, it suits my riding style of riding and I have come to grips with it power very quickly even though this track is very tight & demanding,
The Ducati …is nothing like my Yamaha RI that I was riding previously.

LS: Have you ever raced at Morgan Park before.
CT: NO not until this last weekend, but I really enjoy the layout it’s a real Challenge.

LS : Where do you see yourself finishing after the 2 day test,
CT: My goal is to be in the Top 5.

Just for the record as of Thursday afternoon at the close of Testing Corey was in 4th place with a lap time of 1.13.478 & only 5 riders managed to get into the 1.13 bracket.

LS:: Where did you start racing and in what year.
CT: 2011.. Australian GP80 Metrakit junior road race championship.
2012.. Moto 3 Australian Superbike Championship

LS:: When did you head to Europe:
CT: In 2013..I got the opportunity to ride in the Moto 3 European Junior World Championship and then in 2014 I went into the Moto 2 FIM European Championship and then again in 2015 I was riding in the Moto 2 FIM European Championship but in 2016 I got the opportunity to ride in the Japan Superbike Championship 2016 and also the World Endurance Championship, Suzuka 8 hour and then at the end of 2016 I came home to Australia and Dad Surprised me with a Yamaha YZF R1 and I started riding that in the 2017 ASBK championship.
