Nico Menzel talks about the new BMW GT4 campaign

Share

Going from a GT3 car to a GT4 car may not be everyone’s idea of career progression but that is exactly what it is for Nico Menzel.

2018 represents another year in the BMW Junior Driver program and he gets to race the fruits of his – and the other junior drivers- labours with the GT4 BMW M6.

Undoubtedly the GT4 series will be a hard one to call this year. So many new cars have come in and the balance of performance will play a part. But it is important to remember that GT4 needs to do what it says on the box – it needs to present a low coat way for people to scale the ranks of GT racing. Afterall, GT3 has gotten a tad expensive.

But I digress. This also the chance for Menzel to show how he has developed as a racer and as a person. That is one of the key things he gained from the BMW Young Driver’s Program. It is more that just racing.

It is becoming a better person for the racing – stronger, more resilient, more emotionally mature. Ut has also led to some strong ontrack results as well.

In this interview we discuss BMW’s GT4 product, Menzel’s time in the BMW Junior program and his ontrack highlights.
