To most sportscar fans, Stephane Ortelli is a known name. Le Mans winner in 1998 with Porsche, Porsche Supercup Champion, FIA GT Champion, Blancpain Champion, Spa 24 Hours winner, class winner at Sebring, class winner of the Le Mans Series. He has raced with the big names of Porsche, Oreca, Pescarolo and WRT.

Over the last few seasons he has turned his attention to bringing up the small Swiss team – Emil Frey Racing.

Over the last few seasons they have campaigned with the Jaguar GT3 effort but this year they switch their attention to the Lexus RC F GT3. This car is not used to European competition not sprint racing so it is a steep learning curve for the team.

But it is something that Ortelli relishes. Even after more than three decades in the sport, he still wants more.

It is the culture and how the Emil Frey team is approaching their racing and the culture within the team that impresses Ortelli.

While the car may not be on the ultimate pace as yet Ortelli is confident that it, and the team, can get there.

In this interview Ortelli discusses the development of the team, what they have done to get the car to this point and more.
