It is clear. No one wants to miss the 60th Ardeca Ypres Rally!

In recent days, the entry list has grown even further and we can now expect 92 crews to cross the starting ramp. When combined with the Ypres Historic Rally and the Division 2 competition that will bring 31 and 47 crews respectively. It means that there will be an impressive 170 teams competing on the famous roads of Ypres.

Additionally, more international stars registered, including last year’s winner, Stéphane Lefebvre. The Nordist, who feels very much at home on the Ypres stages, will be at the start with a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2. He will be the ideal reference for Bjorn Syx, the other outsider with a Toyota.

Anyone who saw the emotions of last year’s winner will realise how important the Ardeca Ypres Rally is for the former Junior World Champion. “I came here to watch the rally with my dad as a child and I dreamed of the day I would win in Ypres,” Lefebvre said last year.

Hyundai’s troops have also been reinforced. Charles Munster will be at the start with a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 from the family team BMA. In the Swiss Rallye du Chablais, Munster steered the Hyundai to fourth place, while in the Sezoensrally he was the only one who could stay on the tail of Jos Verstappen. So don’t underestimate the 24-year-old 2021 Junior BRC champion.

Patrick Snijers will be in the new Porsche 992 Rally GT from FS-Sport, while the team boss, Steve Fernandes will also be at the start in Ypres with his well-known Hyundai i20 N Rally2.

The result is a magnificent entry of 92 participants, including no fewer than 24 Rally2s and 10 Porsches in RGT. Stefaan Prinzie will take them on in the lone Alpine.

The battle at the front will be exciting between the world-class drivers Hayden Paddon, Dani Sordo and Stéphane Lefebvre. They will be looking to make life difficult for the Belgian championship stalwarts Jos Verstappen, Vincent Verschueren, Niels Reynvoet and Bjorn Syx.

We will see you in Ypres on 27 and 28 June. You won’t want to miss it!
