“Super satisfied. I mean, it’s the maximum we could have achieved. So we have to be satisfied with this.”

That is Jake Dennis from Andretti after finishing second in the London E‑Prix. Second might, you think, be a good result – but it also means he has lost his championship lead, with just one race left in the season.

“Results… you have to take these opportunities, take these second places when you can, and yeah, take the points. So ultimately, all I wanted coming into tomorrow was an opportunity to win it, and that’s what we got.”

With the title fight now down to a single race, qualifying on Sunday will be crucial. It’s a completely new race day: practice, qualifying, then the race – a winner‑takes‑all situation.

“We’ll change… we’ll change setup to try and make our car a little bit quicker. Right now we’re not quickest. But yeah, we’ll just try and focus on ourselves and not get caught up in too much stuff.”

Dennis knows he is fast, and he knows what he has to do tomorrow. But does Porsche’s pace worry him? Today they could have had a one‑two on the grid, and they could use team tactics in the finale.

“I mean, there’s a concern, yes. But I mean, they’re playing the game, so there’s nothing we can do about it. If I have Pipo there, then we probably do the same, but I don’t at the moment. And hopefully we can both qualify at the front and have a good race.”

“We’re close enough to… to win the thing. Uh, whoever beats each other will probably become champions. So yeah, we’ll just go out there and race as hard as we can.”

So Dennis heads into Sunday knowing he has the speed, but also knowing the pressure is on. Make sure you like and subscribe so you don’t miss a thing from the Formula E title decider.
