We take a look at the Historics, QRC and all-comers to Rally Qld

We take a look at the other categories from Rally Queensland. It was a great rally but unfortunately the Queensland Rally Championship lost one of their own in a tragic crash.

The Queensland Rally Championship field was in mourning after the International Rally of Queensland after Grant Brecknell and James McIntosh had a massive accident in stage 14.  Brecknell was seriously injured but McIntosh died.  It was the first fatality in the Rally’s history.  Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the friends, family and of course fellow competitors of the driver and co-driver.

The Historic category featured a range of great machinery including Datsuns, Ford Escorts and of course Toyotas.

It was the Bates Toyota that took out the Classic class

There was also an all-comers category – really a ‘run-what-you-brung’ featuring great historic cars like this Subaru but also a bunch of old Fords and Daihatsus amongst others.

The QRC category was taken out by Shepard-McCarthy Mitsubishi.  The duo had been competing in the ARC before stepping back for 2013

The Historic category also featured this very handsome Mini

Unfortunately this Datsun rolled soon after this photo.  The duo in the car were fine but the car was badly damaged

Even the all comers could get some air over the small jump on the Imbil stage
