RacerViews was at the International Rally of Queensland on the weekend – a round of the ECB Australian Rally Championship and a round of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship (APRC).  In our first interview, we catch up with MRF Skoda’s Gaurav Gill.

Gill is a long time supporter of the APRC, having competed in the past with a Mitsubishi Evo.  His MRF team switched a couple of seasons ago to the S2000 spec Skoda Fabia, winning last time out in New Caledonia.

The 3-times Indian Rally Champion though faced a difficult rally in Queensland, with tight slippery roads greeting the field.  Added to that, Gill faced up against teammate and reigning Finnish Rally Champion, Esapekka Lappi.  Gill led early on in the rally but tyre problems and suspension problems forced him to retire early on Sunday morning.
