Leonard Smith was at Lakeside over the weekend for the 2014 Shannons Australian Historic Road Racing Championships and here we take a look at the sidecars.

it was almost a perfect weekend of historic racing action.  We will have more galleries but nearing the end of Sunday’s action Steve Anderson tragically lost his life.  A note from Queensland Raceways.

A great sadness has come over the motorcycle community. After 4 excitement filled days of historic motor cycle action, one of the sports great enthusiasts died at Lakeside Park from injuries sustained as the result of a crash caused by two bikes touching at high speed whilst coming onto the front straight.

Some people live their lives in the constant fear of a death that they cannot avoid; others show their gratitude for the gift that God gave them by using it to make a difference for themselves and others. Steve Anderson was of the latter type. Proud to be a racer and a very good one at that, Steve’s many friends and admirers in the sport will miss him greatly.

On behalf of all the Queensland Raceways crew I wish to express our profound sympathy and condolences to Steve’s family and friends and wish to offer them every support in the difficult weeks ahead.
