It has been a great start to the 2018 Omloop van Vlaanderen as part of the Jobfixers Belgian Rally Championship.

It is a fight between Kris Princen and Vincent Verschueren at the front of the field. After the first five stages of the rally, Princen holds a handy lead, taking four fastest stage times to Verscheren’s one. It gives Princen an 11.4 second lead heading into Saturday’s stages.

It will be an interesting fight as Verschueren has a new Skoda for this round as they battle for the Championship.

Adrian Fernemont is third making it a Skoda 1-2-3. There has already been drama for Kevin Demaerschalk who broke a wheel on his Citroen C3 and didn’t complete the Friday’s stages.

In RGT, Monnens holds a tiny, 0.9 second gap over Snijers and in Historic, Liataer has a commanding lead.

158.77km over 13 stages lie in wait for the crews on Saturday.
