These cars are built for one reason – to smash out a laptime at Sydney Motorsports Park for the World Time Attack Challenge. The regulations are quite open and the lap times show it – Barton Mawer, in a PR968 Porsche lapped the circuit in a 1:19.277 to break the lap record for the event and come close to the outright lap record from Nico Hukenberg from the A1GP days. But compare to a (V8) Supercars lap record of 1:29.8 and you understand how fast these are.
