Munster back in Belgium!

Grégoire Munster is heading back to where it all began — but with a very different profile.

After three seasons in the World Rally Championship, including two at Rally1 level as an M-Sport factory driver, the 27-year-old is set to contest a national programme in the Kroon-Oil Belgian Rally Championship. It marks a notable reset for the two-time Belgian Junior champion (2018–19), who now returns with added experience from the sport’s top tier.

Munster will campaign a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 prepared by BMA, alongside Damien Withers, best known as the former co-driver of Cédric Cherain. The pairing signals clear intent, combining top-level experience with proven domestic knowledge.

Before the full programme gets underway, Munster will make an initial outing at this weekend’s Monteberg Rally, where he will be joined by Diederik Pattyn for what is effectively a test in competitive conditions.

Despite competing under a Luxembourg licence, Munster has officially registered for the Belgian championship — meaning his results will count.

A return, then, but not a step back. More a recalibration — and perhaps a statement of intent.
