Rob Huff certainly won his 2012 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) the hard way.  He just took the lead at Macau and then hit the wall.  Out.  He had to fight from the back on the tightest track in the motor racing world and avoid the carnage along the way.  He did, but only just has he reveals in this interview.

We also talk the Bathurst 12 Hour, his 2013 plans, racing on the Mountain and his introduction to GTs – given only a handful of starts in the past.

Huff spent a single season in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) after winning Seat Cupra Championship.  He moved with Chevy to the WTCC in 2005 with the first year being a bit of a waste with only 3 points from 19 races.  He soon improved and in 2008 he was 3rd in the Championship.  He would repeat that in 2010, a second in 2011 and finally won it in 2012.

Huff’s record in touring car races reads very well with two wins in the BTCC and 23 wins from 178 starts in the WTCC.

With Chevy’s withdrawal from WTCC, he finds himself out of a ride – which is absurd for a Champion to be out of a ride but as he explains, he has options for 2013.

The official event website, www.bathurst12hour.com.au, will be the primary place to view the race, with RadioLeMans also providing live audio throughout the event.

We will be bringing you more throughout the weekend and keep an eye on www.speedtv.com and www.dailysportscar.com for more news throughout the weekend.
