There are few greater things than watching Gilles Panizzi on tarmac.  Rallying at incredible speeds through narrow, winding French roads, Panizzi, together with brother Herve was at home.  Fearless and massively quick, he would take French Championships and was untouchable in the WRC.

He had a style that drew people to rallying, that left you speechless.

In this video, we see Panizzi on one of the stages of the French Rally Championship.  In the Rallye du Touquet, he would finish second to the Renault Megane Maxi of Serge Jordan but it would not dent his title hopes as he would go on to take the 1997 title.

The Peugeot 306 Maxi was built to the A7 and F2 rules of the day, taking the hatch, adding noise and making it into the best A7 car of its day.
