At Geneva Motor Show, Subaru unveiled a plug-in hybrid concept that has been dubbed Viziv2, the phrase for “vision for innovation” describing it as the future generation crossover. The first Viziv made a debut at last year’s Geneva Motor Show and was seen as a replacement of the age old low selling Tribeca, but an updated version of it, the Viziv Evolution” was later showcased at Tokyo Motor Show. The Viziv2 concept hints at the design language and remarkable technologies that have been exploited in the production of modern Subaru cars and light trucks. As such, its cutting-edge features seem to overshadow all those of any car model today and guarantees fuel efficiency, road safety and the prestige that everyone desires. Here are some of the features of Subaru Viziv2.

All-wheel-drive system

The Subaru Viziv2 has an amazing all-wheel-drive system powered by its plug-in hybrid Powertrain that comprises of a 1.6 liter boxer diesel engine with CVT, a lithium-ion battery pack and trio electric motors. The diesel engine and one electric motor work hand-in-hand to power the front wheels, while the two remaining electric motors power the rear wheels. The motor that propels the front with the diesel engine works double duty as they also provide the capturing braking energy necessary for the recharging of the lithium-ion battery pack that is located under the passenger compartment. At low speeds, the electric motors, fuel the Viziv, but the 1.6 diesel engine and the CVT propel the Viziv at higher velocities.

Eco Cruise and safety

Viziv2 concept has an SI-Drive control system that is fitted with a new feature, the Eco Cruise, capable of scanning the road ahead and influencing the engine to move at a suitable speed depending on the circumstances. The feature has been made in such a way that it works with SubaruEyesight in an attempt to ensure road safety. Moreover, its Powertrain is fitted with a stop-start system that makes it economical in terms of fuel consumption. The Viziv2 concept’s overhang is designed to match all the pedestrian safety requirements especially in Europe.

Lighting system and its doors

The concept also has the prominent LED lighting system on its rear and front bumpers. When it comes to the doors, the Viziv2 model has two extra apertures as compared to its forerunners. Its front doors are designed to open up and forward as the rear ones slide backwards. The front doors are attached to the base of the A-pillar by a single hinge and the rear ones are attached by two hinges. Viziv2 is a four-seat crossover with amazing interior and exterior parts.

Thus, Subaru Viziv2 is an auto worth buying, but if you can’t afford it, there is an option of buying used Subaru cars. Hence, here are some important tips for what to look at when buying a used Subaru.

The price

After identifying the Subaru car worth buying, it is important to know its market price before agreeing with a dealer on the value. You can know the price of that particular model by checking at car magazines near you.

Full Subaru Service History (FSSH)

Moreover, it is essential to check if the car has received the necessary mechanical examination at the required times. FSSH will inform you about the details of service that you need to determine whether the car has been maintained or neglected. Hence, examine the service book and the receipts thoroughly.

Vehicle Identification Number (VN)

The car’s identification number should match with the number provided on the registration document. You can establish this by inspecting the plate found near the engine bay because it is usually stamped there. The plate will also show the model, trim and paint codes.

Car’s interior

You should as well perform an interior inspection to know if the car is still in good condition. This is because most owners tend to replace the originals and it is good to ensure that they were replaced appropriately. The interior parts that you should check include: door trims, pedals, seat belt tension, gear knobs, stereo system, intercooler fins and foot well carpets.

The vehicle’s exterior

Subaru cars are usually robust and thus glancing at it can help you determine if it has been well maintained or not. Therefore, you should check the paintwork and any other visible irregularities that reflect repair work. Although Subaru cars come with 6-12 anti-corrosion warranty, you can find rust on some parts that should not make you worried. It is worth mentioning that some damages are caused by hard driving and even off road driving.

Hence, buying a brand new Subaru car such as Viziv2 is a good investment, but when finances are limited, used Subaru cars are worth going for. However, enlisting the services of an inspection company to help in inspecting the used Subaru car is necessary as they can help you avoid being ripped off by dealers and car owners.
