ASBK: We talk to Chas Hern about his EBR choice

Chas Hern is one of Australia’s top superbike riders and he has jumped on board an EBR this weekend at Morgan Park Raceway for the second round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) and in the process took a front row for the team.

Hern is doing the campaign on a shoestring budget but has showed his skill to qualify third, fastest of the Dunlop runners.  What is more amazing is that his bike is one of only two EBR racing bikes in the country – racing against rivals with dozens of race bikes.

He is racing round by round at the moment, looking for money to sure up his campaign as he is full of praise for his EBR machine.

His praise was warranted as and the EBR took 1.17.8 in Superpole and while not fast enough to catch the wildly quick Mike Jones, he was one of only two (Daniel Falzon was the other) to dip into the 1:17s.  Undoubtedly too, there is more to come from that bike.

In this interview we discuss how the EBR machine has gotten to grips with the Morgan Park circuit, how he has sorted his bike for the ASBK races and why he chose to ride with EBR.
