Alonso sets a sensational fastest ever lap of Sebring with a 1m40.124s best and with Kazuki Nakajima, the average 1m40.318s, easily good enough for pole Toyota lock out front row as No.7 Toyota TS 050 HYBRID driven by Mike Conway and Jose-Maria Lopez average of 1m.40.803s which is 0.4s adrift of No.8 pole setting crew.
The fastest non-Hybrid honours falls to No.17 SMP Racing duo of Egor Orudzhev and Stephane Sarrazin.
In LMGTE Pro, the class pole fell to Porsche GT Team as Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen take first pole position of the Super Season. The French/Danish duo set average of 1m57.500s to head Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team pair of Ford GTs. The No.67 car driven by Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell head sister Ford GT of Stefan Mucke and Olivier Pla by just 0.1s.
In LMP2 the No.38 Jackie Chan DC Racing pairing of Stephane Richelmi and Gabriel Aubry took pole. They celebrate second pole position of Super Season with an average of 1m47.558s. Jackie Chan DC Racing claim 1-2 as No.37 car places second.
The No.77 Porsche of the Patrick Dempsey-owned Dempsey Proton team grabs a ‘home’ pole in LMGTE Am class as Christian Ried and Matt Campbell combine to set average of 1m59.790s. Campbell sets best overall class lap of 1m58.411s
Amazingly, Team Project 1 will start second after fighting back from testing fire.
