Mark Turon was at the third round of the Southern Cross Rally Series, the Bega Valley Rally held in South-East New South Wales.

The Bega Valley Rally has been around for decades and takes place in an area known for its cheese. However, the 68 competitors this year only had gravel roads on their minds.

Local driver, Ben Barker in his BMW took the win in 2 hours 11 minutes, beating better known names – by 1:29 from Neil Bates who was a further 2:05 of Nathan Quinn in a Mazda.

Barker took 10 stage wins across the 14 stage event. Jayke Skeffington took four stages and Quinn was equal stage winner with Barker on SS13.

Skeffington lost time in the rally, finishing almost 40 minutes down. There were only 12 retirements on the rally.
