This weekend saw Pembrey Circuit the home of Welsh motorsport host rounds seven and eight of the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy. Patrick O’Donovan arrived at Pembrey as the current leader of the Super Car Series and would be looking to keep second place Julian Godfrey at bay, along with last year’s winner  Derek Tohill who is presently third place in the championship.

Patrick O’Donovan in his Ford Fiesta seemed to be in total control throughout the weekend winning both of his semi-finals and ultimately both finals. His weekend though was not without some mechanical issues that seemed to be overcome by temporary makeSHIFT means, whilst repairs were being made to parts of the car. Saturday would see the 2017 5 Nations BRX champion and returnee Nathan Heathcote manage to grab the runner-up position, with another ex-champion, Julian Godfrey taking third. Sunday’s second place went the way of Julian Godfrey and thus hoping to keep his championship hopes alive. Ollie O’Donovan took third.

Motorsport UK Supernational Rallycross Championship

Saturday’s final was won by Darren Bleasdale with Paige Bellerby taking second. Mechanical issues for Jason Bleasdale saw him retire at the start of the final. Due to Jason’s mechanical issues on Saturday he decided to commandeer his brothers Vauxhall VX220 for Sunday’s race. Jason managed to take first place just ahead of Paige Bellerby in second. Jason is now 2022 Supernational Rallycross Champion.
