We take a look at the action from Saturday and Sunday at what is probably one of the biggest historic motor sporting events in the world.
The Silverstone Classic is a monster of a weekend with just as much happening off track as there is on track. Over the three days, there are over 20 races taking place along with demonstrations and car club drive-outs around the world-famous F1 circuit. Each morning starts with a hot air balloon flyout and the balloons are back later, to end the day with another flyout. Live music also plays a big part over the weekend with the main stage hosting acts such as Rick Astley, Dodgy, Gabrielle, Sister Sledge, The Cuban Brothers and Björn Again.
The Silverstone Classic is very much a family affair with so much for children and parents to do off track. This includes such things as Racing Simulators, Pit Stop Challenges and a full size Funfair. If Mum gets bored then there is always a possible visit to one of the many Silverstone Auctions that are taking place for that much-needed Xmas present for Dad. There are also guest appearances from motorsport legends such as Damon Hill.
New for this year were the celebrity chef master classes. Celebrity chefs were seen to be undertaking cooking demos and Q&A sessions on the Silverstone Kitchen Live stage throughout the weekend. Friday saw Candice Brown take to the stage and Lesley Water made an appearance on Saturday with The Good Bite’s Niall Kirkland taking the stage on Sunday.
