Kyle “Yung Money” Larson swept the tables Sunday afternoon on his way to a dominate victory in Las Vegas, holding off Tyler Reddick for his first win of 2024 and locking himself into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs for the 4th consecutive year. Larson’s win made him the second driver in the Hendrick stable to lock into the playoffs as Chevrolet has taken the win in all three Cup races this season.
Leading a race-high 181 laps, Larson swept both stages on his way to his third overall win in Sin City, tying Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski in the process with three, as he backed up his fall 2023 performance. Larson’s win pushes him to the top of the Cup Series Regular Season Championship, displacing Kyle Busch on the top step
2023 Series Champion, Ryan Blaney, backed up his strong finish in Atlanta with a 3rd place finish ahead of Ross Chastain – who overcame a back of the pack start due to unapproved changes to his Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet and a pit lane speeding violation – to take his 2nd top-5 finish in a row.
Ty Gibbs finished 5th after overcoming his own pit road violation for an uncontrolled tire while Stewart-Haas’s Noah Gragson took home 6th ahead of Gibbs’s teammates Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin. Polesitter Joey Logano would go on to finish 9th and William Byron, this years Daytona 500 Champion, would rally from a lap down after having to remove a trash bag from the front of his Hendrick machine to round out the top 10.
