Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin F1 Team, in the garage
Fernando Alonso finished on top in Jeddah as Thursday’s running came to a close with Free Practice 2. The Spaniard piloted his Aston Martin to the top spot with the weekends fastest lap thus far with a blistering 1:28.827, eclipsing Max Verstappen’s FP1 time by nearly a full second as teams completed long runs on both medium and soft compounds in anticipation for tomorrow’s Free Practice 3 and Qualifying sessions.
Verstappen, on a different run plan from FP1, set the third fastest time behind the Mercedes of George Russell.

Charles LeClerc moved up a position with the forth quickest time ahead of Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, and teammate Carlos Sainz. Lewis Hamilton stayed in position at 8th as the Mercedes driver suffered a power failure near the end of the session, forcing him to retire from the session early, as he was followed by the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and the McLaren of Oscar Piastri.
