NASCAR: Hamlin steals victory at home

There’s nothing like winning at home and for the 5th time in his career Denny Hamlin has claimed victory in front of the home crowd. The #11 driver stole the lead from the dominant #19 of teammate Martin Truex Jr. as a late caution fell with only a few laps remaining, his pit crew coming in clutch to jump from 3rd to 1st for the final restart with 2 laps to go in overtime. With fresher tires and the advantage of the inside line, Hamlin leapt at the flag and never looked back for his 53rd career victory and 2nd of 2024.
