Belgian rally fans can’t wait for the East Belgian Rally in St Vith! With over 80 teams participating, including some top contenders like Cédric Cherain, Niels Reynvoet, and Maxime Potty, it’s going to be an intense competition. The rally promises to be a crucial event in the championship race, and every kilometre will be crucial for the three contenders. The shakedown is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, and I’m excited to see the action in Butgenbach. The course looks fantastic, and with stages like Büllingen, Amel, Sankt-Vith, and Burg-Reuland, it’s going to be an exhilarating event.
The competition opens with the Büllingen stage (12.06 km), which has remained unchanged. The second stage of the competition is Amel (13.66 km), which is also the longest stage of the competition. This stage has been largely changed. The third stage is the well-known Sankt-Vith stage (12.05 km), which was the final of the competition last year, followed by the stage in Burg-Reuland (12.49 km). This will also be the Powerstage in the third round, where 3, 2 and 1 bonus points can be earned for the fastest three drivers.

The three loops together are good for 150.78 km against the clock. The first car is expected at 8:20 on the starting podium in front of the Triangel cultural centre in St-Vith. The winner will be honoured on the finishing podium around 21:30.
Along with the title front runners, former F1 winner and on-form Dutchman Jos Verstappen is back. Furthermore after his great early season run Bastien Rouard is back with Hyundai brand-mate Steve Fernandes, Emile Breittmayer in his Citroën C3 Rally2, Thibaud Mazuin, Nicola Stampaert, Richard Pex and Sébastien Incardona in a Skoda Fabia and of course also local pilot Kevin Hommes, who wouldn’t miss his home race for anything in the world. The Polish Jaroslav Koltun is also back in the top class.
It will be an intense day on 28 September!
