Ferrari opened Spa-Francorchamps with a quietly authoritative FP1, Antonio Fuoco hustling the No.50 499P to the top of the times with a 2m05.690s lap in cool, bright morning conditions. It set the tone for an AF Corse one–two, the sister No.51 car slotting in behind and reinforcing the sense that Maranello has arrived in the Ardennes with a car and a crew already thinking about June, not just Saturday.

Behind, there was a pleasing sense of variety rather than a red rout. Lamborghini’s SC63 made good on its potential with third, Daniil Kvyat giving the marque a useful early headline, while Alpine’s A424 continued its steady elevation into the Hypercar mainstream in fourth. Porsche’s best, the customer Proton 963, was shaded by the No.83 Ferrari, a reminder that the independent arm of AF Corse is more than just a supporting act.

Toyota, so often the metronome of this championship, bided its time in 11th, the No.8 GR010 content to treat FP1 as an exercise in data gathering rather than ego. In LMGT3, TF Sport’s yellow Corvette set the standard, Daniel Juncadella heading a top six that featured six different manufacturers and underlined the class’ early success as a rolling showroom.
