Round 16 of the 18 round 2011 MotoGP Championship took place at Phillip Island.  Racer View’s Sam Tickell was on the Island to catch all the action.

The MotoGP Championship was taken by local hero, Casey Stoner on his Repsol Honda after Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo withdrew after losing the tip of his finger after a warm up accident.  The Moto2 title is close with Stefan Bradl retook the Championship lead but Marquez stole the show by coming from last to second.  The 125cc battle was cut short due to rain but put on a great show.
