RacerViews’ photographer, Jeff Kapic was at Sonoma over the previous weekend to shoot the Ferrari Challenge.  He appeared to have great weather and a great track.  Oh and just a few Ferraris – tough weekend!

The race in brief

Sonoma, 27 April – In exciting Race 1 action, Onofrio Triarsi (Ferrari of Central Florida) took a fast start among the 29 cars on the track and was in pole position turning his fastest lap on the 4th of 5 laps until a mechanical failure sidelined him. John Farano (Auto Gallery) inherited the lead and stayed out front until the finish, shaking off several attempts to overtake him. Carlos Kauffman (Auto Gallery) took second behind John Farano in the Trofeo Pirello category followed by Michael Schein (Ferrari of Central Florida) who placed third. Of the Coppa Shell drivers, Brent Lawrence (Ferrari of San Diego) took the lead and never looked back turning his quickest on lap 3 of 8. Mark Muzzo (Ferrari of Ontario) ended-up on the podium in second with John Baker (Ferrari of San Francisco) taking third place in the Coppa Shell category. Look for continued blue skies and beautiful California scenery as a backdrop to Race 2 on Sunday.
