Ben Gersekowski took his first Australian F3 podium in the round at Darwin that occurred a couple of weeks ago in June.

He stepped up to the outright class for the first time in 2013 and didn’t take long to get up to pace in his Dallara 307.  He also became the first driver except for Chris Gilmour to take a podium for the Gilmour Racing team.

He had a great run in Darwin, taking two fourth places before battling to third in the final race of the weekend.  It was the weekend dominated by Tim Macrow, Nick Foster, Ben and Jordan Oon.  Ben took the final podium from Oon in race three with a great move on track.

The weekend was marred by a series of incidents, most notably Steel Guiliana – who hit a number of questionably placed tyre bundles coming into turn one.  We have video of that incident and further highlights of the race, after Ben’s interview.

The Australian F3 Championship will take place over seven rounds in 2013.
