2013 has been a very successful year for Victoria’s Brendan Reeves.  In America he took out the Rally America 2WD Championship and across the water he was the only one that consistently challenge Eli Evans in the ECB Australian Rally Championship.

Reeves with navigator Rhianon Smyth fought for rally wins with a fraction of the budget and at Rally Victoria, he switched to experienced navigator, Glenn MacNeill.  It was a successful event for the duo, taking a heat win and second overall, just missing the win – finishing 3.2 seconds behind Evans’ Honda.

It was the completion of  a season that included five from five class wins in the Rally America Series and three heat wins in the Australian Rally Championship, leading to three overall podiums.  He would be US Champion and finished 4th outright in Australia.

The success shows his pedigree which has been honed in international rally.  In 2011 he finished 5th outright as part of the FIA World Rally Championship Academy and 2012 saw him finish 4th outright in the WRC Academy.  He was also a selected to participate in the FIA Young Drivers Excellence Academy in 2012.

In this interview we had a chat about his 2013 seasons in both Australia and America, his plans for 2014, the challenges between rallying in two continents and more.
