We were at the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours over the weekend and we caught up with Markus Winkelhock who was driving for the United Autosport Audi team.  In the end they finished sixth – United’s best effort in their three races at the Mountain.

Winkelhock comes from a motorsport family with his father – the late Manfred Winkelhock was a F1 and sportscar star and uncle Joachim Winkelhock was, of course a touring car star.

Markus made one F1 start, where he was the only person to start from last and lead his F1 debut.  He has raced DTM, was a FIA GT1 World Champion and has turned to GT racing.  He was in the Flying Lizard Audi in the Rolex 24 at Daytona finish.
