Car n°22 (Emeric Rary – Fabrice Henry) went off the road in the special stage n°17 of Bas-Oha – Wanzoul.

The car hit a small parapet before turning on its side and hitting a group of spectators who were in an area closed to the public. Despite the rapid response of the emergency services, two people were killed.  A third person and a crew member were taken to hospital for a check-up. Their lives are not in danger. The race management immediately neutralized the special stage 17 and canceled the last timed section of the rally.

There was be no podium or prize giving. The Royal Motor Club of Huy and the RACB join with the families’ grief and offer them their deepest condolences. An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
