Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc set the pace this afternoon ahead of Max Verstappen and teammate Carlos Sainz. After the chaotic morning, the second free practice session had a much busier feel as 18 of the 20 drivers burst out of the garages at the start. Verstappen, however, was delayed due to floor damage on his RB20 from the earlier session on Friday, forcing his mechanics to complete repairs prior to his FP2 release.
Alex Albon was the second of those drivers not to be released at the beginning of FP2 with the Williams driver sitting out for the entirety of the session with tremendous damage to his car. Although uninjured, the extensive repairs needed forced the Williams team to withdraw the car from the session before it could begin.
