The ultra-quick McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris made their stack at the top of the time sheets Friday as teams completed the final Free Practice of the weekend prior to this afternoons qualifying session. Piastri, 2nd in FP2, interrupted the Ferrari dominance of the weekend setting a lap time over four tenths quicker than LeClerc’s fastest FP2 time. The pair of Ferrari drivers were not far behind though, slotting themselves in 3rd and 4th respectively.
Fernando Alonso was responsible for the first red flag of the day as the Spaniard crashed heavily as he navigated his Aston Martin through Rivazza. Although he emerged unharmed, the same could not be said about his car which will need extension repairs in preparation for the remainder of the weekend.

Red Bull continued their struggles in the Italian countryside with Max Verstappen unable to improve past 6th on the sheets while teammate Sergio Perez ended his day in the barriers in turn 15, bringing out the second of two red flags during the final practice session.
