Mike Shank’s team has graced the Rolex Grand American Road Racing grid since 2004, taken on the good times and the bad, survived the recession and is now taking on the switch from Grand Am to the Tudor United Sports Car Championship.

It has been a monumental task for the team that employes 11 people.  The team has worked hard – very hard to get their cars ready for the Championship – but it is something that Shank is ready for and believes that the move will be for the good of the sport.  Even if there are some early teething problems.

He has been working closely with the IMSA staff to get the rule book as close to level as possible but admits that there will always be differences in the car.

In this interview Mike talks of the challenges that he, and his team have faced in getting ready for the 2014 TUSCC series, including working with IMSA and the hours his employees have spent in getting ready. We discuss his aims for the season. He also talks of the challenges to stay on the grid, his victory at the 50th edition of the Rolex 24 from Daytona and the highs and lows of running in sportsar racing.
