Saturday’s final practice in Barcelona was a tight one as Carlos Sainz lead the way from McLaren’s Lando Norris by a scant 0.03s as the top five drivers in the session were separated by no more than 0.151s as the end of running.
With all three compounds being used, it was George Russell who set the early marker with a 1:13.431s lap on the red-sided soft compounds, however during the final qualifying runs at the end of the session, Sainz would go on to blast that time away by over four tenths of second.

Further down the field, Lewis Hamilton and Charles LeClerc each had theor own run-ins with fellow competitors in what seemed to be extremely odd circumstances. Hamilton and Lance Stroll started the action in turn five as the seven-time world champion rubbed bodywork with the Aston Martin with Hamilton radioing to his team that “(he) didn’t see him, my bad”. Then in a separate incident, after the checkered flag fell on the session, LeClerc drove into the McLaren of Lando Norris on the return back to the pits that left Norris concerned for damage to his car.
Neither incident prompted any action from the stewards.
Thus concludes the final practice for tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix, tune in at 16:00 local time for qualifying.
